Cinderford Town 1 Highworth Town 1

Highworth Town travelled home with a point last night when a late equaliser from the home side deprived the visitors from a well deserved win given the amount of chances they created.
On a slippery surface Toby Holland went close with a 20 yard free kick early on before Highworth's first real chance came on 17 minutes. A quick free kick in midfield allowed Ollie Case to make ground down the right wing and his cross was met by Holland whose clip over the sprawling keeper hit a post a rolled along the goal line before being cleared. Minutes later Connor Johns in the visitors goal made a fine block at his right hand post to keep the scores level. Little else to report in the first 45 minutes as HT was reached at 0-0.
Highworth took the lead on 52 mins when Matty Grabe went on a run down the left and into the penalty box before laying the ball off to Holland who scored with a sublime chip into the far top corner as keeper Jones was only able to watch the ball sail over him.
Johns then made a great save on 57 mins getting down to his left to turn aside a long range effort as the home side pressed forward. Holland struck a post for a second time when his solo run and shot came back off the woodwork again. Callum Parsons saw his deflected effort
go narrowly wide as Highworth looked to make the game safe but on 78 mins their defence was breached. A free kick from wide right was not dealt with and Tristan Haswell was on hand to force the ball over the line from close range.
Cinderford pushed on but Highworth saw the game out in relative comfort to ensure a first draw of the season was achived.
Next up for Highworth Town :
League leaders Frome Town at HOME on Saturday, 3.00 pm ko.
