Highworth Town 1 Cirencester Town 3

Highworth's poor run of form continued with a New Year's Day defeat to high flying Cirencester Town.
Playing against the strong breeze the young Highworth side fell behind in the 7th Minute when a long ball over the top by keeper Alexander Harris was not dealt with and Levi Irving pounced to slot the ball beyond Connor Johns.
Ash Edenborough saw a long range effort comfortably dealt with by Harris before Thomas Anderson saw his effort cleared by the Highworth defence after an impressive run from midfield.
HT 0-1
Cirencester extended their lead on 47 mins when Aiden Bennett found the net from 12 yards after home skipper Dan Comer had blocked an initial effort but could not quite regain his footing to clear. Ash Edenborough pulled a goal back 5 minutes later as his effort to a wicked deflection and looped over Harris.
Home keeper Connor Johns produced an excellent stop to keep Highworth in the game before Edenborough wasted a glorious chance to level the scores by blasting a penalty over the bar on 70 minutes. Highworth pushed on without creating any clear cut chances and the game was sealed in added time when Joe Shepherd converted a left wing cross.
