Highworth Town 4 Paulton Rovers 1

Highworth bounced back from their midweek defeat at Swindon Supermarine and completed their first league "double" of the season with this win.
After a first half of virtually no real goalmouth action during which the visitors dominated possession but failed to capitalise on it the game burst into life on 49 minutes.
A long ball, or hoof as described elsewhere, over the top from Laim Haines found Ash Edenborough clear on goal and despite the despairing efforts of defender and goalkeeper Aaron Sainsbury he slotted home.
Jack Ball thought he had equalised on 63 minutes with a net near post flick but was ruled off side by the assistant referee. Not a popular decision with the visitors who claimed the played flagged was not interfering with play.
Highworth made the most of this let off when 3 times Edenborough harried the Paulton defenders and keeper into trying to play neat football in their own penalty area. Inevitably the eventual effort to clear fell to Highworth as Matt Cheetham crossed from the right for Rob Dean to superbly half volley the ball into the roof of the net on 66 minutes.
Highworth's defence then held firm under pressure from the visitors with Connor Johns tipping an effort from distance around the post and a couple of clearances being made from within the 6 yard box. Highworth's 3rd came on 86 minutes as Toby Jones crossed from the right and found Rob Dean again who scored his second with a crisp volley.
Paulton pulled a goal back on 88 mins when the impressive Liden Ibrahim slotted past the wrong footed Johns but the action just came on coming.
Charlie McCrae was found near the halfway line with a ball out of defence. A defender and for some reason keeper Sainsbury both attempted to dispossess the youngster but he managed to wriggle free and coolly found the unguarded net from 30 yards. That was in the 92nd minute and remarkably 2 mins later an almost identical situation saw McCrae narrowly miss the target from a similar distance.
