Match Preview: FC Deportivo Galicia (A)

Toby Dickenson20 Sep - 09:43

We’re on the road again for fixture 13 of the Combined Counties Division 1 campaign where this weekend we face FC Deportivo Galicia.

The fifth away day of this season sees ourselves travel to Bedfont Sports Centre where this time we face FC Deportivo Galicia.

THE DETAILS
FC Deportivo Galicia vs Hillingdon Borough FC
Cherry Red Records Combined Counties Football League
Bedfont Sports Centre, Hatton Rd, Bedfont TW14 9QT
3:00pm Kick off, Saturday 20th September

CONTEXT
Off the back of our first win of the season and a promising run of form, Gary Pitt enforces hopes to be held high as we make the journey towards Heathrow and take on FC Deportivo Galicia at the home of Bedfont FC.

This weekend’s fixture comes after our first three pointer of the season where we took victory at home against Berks County FC. However, a week’s turnaround and we’re full force into Deportivo Galicia with the hopes of continuing our fast-building momentum.

Our opponents who ground share with Bedfont FC are situated next to Heathrow in what will be an exciting match to begin our two games away stint. The Bedfont based side are sat 23rd in the league and are yet to collect points, providing an incentive for The Boro to capitalise on the upcoming fixture.

Last time out against Deportivo Galicia, a 2-3 win was cemented in September of last year, with the earlier return fixture just three weeks before at The Middlesex Stadium ending in a triumphant 5-0 win which started the eventual six pointer over our upcoming opponents.
Leo Decabo will command FC Deportivo Galicia this weekend off the back of their loss to Sport London e Benfica, with Gary Pitt taking his side on the road in anticipation of continuing their rapidly building chemistry and momentum.

“Following our win over Berks County, we take to the road with high hopes, we’ve been improving over the last month to a level where I believe we’re competitive enough to challenge others, putting so many new players together causes a lack of cohesion, but we have a good group of players that will only get better as a team, so I am looking forward to this match ahead, and hope last week was only a small glimpse of what’s to come.”
