Hitchin Town FC Hawks 3-3 BSFC Athletic FC

The old cliche "a game of two halves" springs to mind for this one.

Hawks started very brightly and scored within a minute only for the offside flag to be raised, but they did take the lead in the 5th minute. Billy M crossed the ball for Ben to head into the goal (1-0). Tyler and Adam were connecting well up front and creating chances. Ben had another shot saved, Adam shot wide and Tyler shot over before in the 17th minute another Billy M cross was met by Billy C to score (2-0). BS created a couple chances and Matthew did well to pull off a couple of fine saves. The BS goalkeeper pulled off another save from Ben and Adam shot over. Just before half time another cross from Billy M found its way to Adam who neatly scored (3-0). Hawks should have been well out of site so their was still hope for BS.

BS came out strong in the 2nd half and used their height and physical presence to their advantage and scored within a couple of minutes (3-1). Tyler was then unfortunate to see an effort go just wide and Ben had another shot saved. Hawks went down to 10 when Billy C was fouled and having no fit substitutes were forced into a reshuffle. Hawks battled but could not get their rhythm going in the 2nd half at all and conceded 2 late goals in the last 10 minutes from set pieces which they could not deal with. A good point for BS but another dent in the race for 1st for the Hawks.
