Hitchin Town FC Hawks 5 - 0 Knebworth Youth FC

Hawks progressed to the 2nd round of the League Cup with a 5-0 victory against a stubborn Knebworth side. Hawks created chance after chance in the first half but found it increasingly difficult to make the breakthrough. Wayward finishing seemed to be the biggest issue along with a very stubborn Knebworth defence. Hawks passed the ball around well but the end product just wasn’t there but a stroke of luck saw the deadlock broken a minute before half time. Billy Mulley passed the ball out wide to Tyler Gray and his deep cross flew across goal, evaded everyone, hit the far post and went in (1-0). Half time.

3 minutes into the second half and Hawks were awarded a penalty when Eliot Campbell-Gumb was brought down by the goalkeeper and George Fitter stepped up to score (2-0). Hawks continued to dominate the match although Knebworth were battling well but could not find a way past the Hawks defence. Eliot got on the score sheet in the 58th minute following a Tyler assist (3-0), Adam passed the ball into the goal in the 73rd minute after being set up by Eliot (4-0) and Eliot grabbed the last goal with a volley at the far post (5-0) following a lovely passing move which ended with a cross from Tyler.
