Potton Colts FC 2-4 Hitchin Town FC Hawks

A frustrating opening to the match which Hawks controlled for the vast majority of the half but were unable to get the killer pass or finish which surely would have opened the flood gates. However Potton battled and defended well and took their chance in the 1st half to take the lead following a long clearance which just bounced away from a defender and a Potton player latched on to the ball and scored (1-0). Corner after corner was cleared by Potton but finally in the 34th minute Hawks equalised when Ben latched on to an Eliot pass and scored beyond the keeper (1-1). Hawks were doing most things right apart from finding the final piece of the jigsaw.

Two quick goals in the 2nd half appeared briefly to settle the match. First Bradleys long pass to Eliot was controlled well and he turned, ran at the defence and shot from across the goalkeeper and into the far corner (1-2). A minute later and the Potton goalkeeper tried to clear an Eliot cross but was tackled by Adam and he scored into an empty goal (1-3). Straight from the kick off and before a Hawks player could get near the ball (dissappointing) it was in the back of the Hawks goals (2-3). Potton were hoping to get something out of the game but George settled the nerves with a long range goal following a neat one two with Billy Harris. Hawks saw out the remainder of the match but need to be more clinical in front of goal.
