Hitchin Town Hawks 8-1 Royston Town FC

A dominant display from Hawks and the goals flowed in the second half.

Hawks soon settled down into their passing game and 10 minutes into the game Adam was fouled in the penalty area. Ben stepped up to open the scoring (1-0). Hawks were strong in the tackle and passed the ball around well but were unable to increase their lead and Royston punished them with an equaliser in the 30th minute (1-1). Hawks continued to press and right on half time they took the lead. Tyler slotted the ball between the defenders for Ben to run onto and score (2-1).

Hawks needed a good start to the 2nd half to stop any ideas of a come-back from Royston and 2 minutes in Billy Kennedy sent over a cross and Ben rose unchallenged to head into the goal for his hat-trick (3-1). 6 minutes later and Ben got his and Hawks 4th goal. Tyler whipped in a free-kick and Ben got on the end of it to tap home (4-1). A minute later and Billy Mulley got on the score sheet following another assist from Tyler (5-1). Hawks got their 2nd penalty of the match when Eliot was fouled and this time George stepped up to score (6-1). 3 minutes later and a fierce shot from George was parried by the goalkeeper but Eliot was on hand to be first to the ball and score (7-1). In the last minute Billy Cook finished the scoring from a Ben pass (8-1). An excellent 2nd half performance.
