Holbrook Sports Football Club sustained to hold their structured strong formation to bring their first win at home. A solid performance from the boys in blue displaying major developments and working well as team. Within 2-minute of the whistle blowing, Lewis Durow running down the left flank when he dropped to the floor, physio Dan Troop instantly called for a sub and the young left back was carried off to hospital, the Brookies didn’t let this affect them. Holbrook held possession, powerfully attacking forcing 3 or 4 chances in the opening 10 minutes. A flailing arm from Matt Pearce inside the area gave Welbeck Lions a chance with a penalty, the ball struck well landing in the bottom corner despite great efforts from Scott Whittingham, putting the Brookies behind 0-1. Keeping heads high, 5 minutes later Holbrook’s Isaac Anderson had a powerful shot leveling the scores 1-1. After half time, Holbrook remained increasing the pressure which soon paid off as the 65th minute hit, Ryan Fitzhugh scored a second goal to place Holbrook in the lead. 70th minute Isaac Anderson bagged his 10th for the season giving the Brookies a comfortable 2 goal lead, the score finishing 3-1 at the full time whistle.
