Match Report - Holbrook Sports 1-2 Quorn AFC - FA Vase 2nd Qualifier - 23/09/17
Quorn started brightly and after only 3 minutes had a good opportunity to open the scoring but the header went wide.
Quorn were dominating possession and deservedly took the lead after 15 minutes. A corner from Gould wasn't collected and Dominic Brennan tucked his shot home 0-1.
For the next 15 minutes, a nervous Brookies side struggled and Quorn dominated the play.
After 38 minutes Brookies had their first chance on target but former Derby County goalkeeper Russell Hoult saved well.
Just before the end of the first period, another chance fell to the Brookies, but it was headed off the line.

Holbrook Sports were starting to get into the game and after 47 minutes had another chance but it was straight at Russell Hoult.
Immediately afterwards, Brookies got the equaliser, when Ryan Baker converted a corner from the left 1-1.
The game was now equal in every sense with both sides looking for a winner.
After 55 minutes a Quorn shot was deflected, leaving James Mitchison stranded in the Brookies net, but luckily it hits the bar and bounces away from danger.
62 minutes and Ryan Baker was left free but his shot could only hit the side netting.
With the game looking like going into extra-time, Holbrook's hopes were dashed. A last minute near post corner by Nick Gould was spilled, under pressure, by goalkeeper James Mitchison, and Ryan Evans thundered a volley into the top corner for the winner 1-2.

Mark Wilson states 'We weren't at our best today but we tried to battle through it. I'm gutted for the players, they deserved a replay. We made 2 basic mistakes and got punished but I can't fault the effort the players put in.
