Today’s result.

We went through to Lockerbie to play Eaglesfield in the 1st round of the league cup today with a full squad of boys. We had 21 players available so that meant Iain and Martin had a difficult decision of choosing the 18 boys for the matchday squad.

The opening 5mins of the game were a cagey affair with both teams passing it around well.

On the 9th minute we took the lead when we had a corner. Milly put in the cross which Marc headed the ball towards the goal at the back post and it fell nicely to Maxi who scored from close range.

For the next 25minutes we dominated the game but didn’t really create anything of note.

We doubled our lead on the 33rd minute when Elmo was fouled in the middle of the park. He takes a quick free kick to Milly who spotted the run by Maxi and he dinked the ball over the advancing keeper.

2 minutes later we scored again when the ball was played long to Sean and he was wiped out by the keeper. Sean picked himself up an slotted the ball home sending the keeper in the opposite direction.

On the 41st minute we scored our 4th when we played some great passing football in the middle of the park, the ball got to Elmo and he played it to Maxo and he picked out Milly on the edge of the box and he placed the ball into the far bottom corner.

We made 1 change at half time with Scotty G coming on for Josh.

We scored again on the 51st minute when a corner taken by Milly was headed in this time by Owen.

A couple of minutes later we made a triple change with Jonny, Eddie and Aiden coming on for Sean, Owen and Dec.

On the 65th minute we made our final change when big Bill came on for Maxi.

We scored our 6th goal on the 69th minute when Milly played the ball up to a Jonny who beat his man and he scored.

On 77nd minute we scored our 7th when Milly played the ball through to Eddie and he held off his defender and scored.

On the 86th minute we scored our 8th and last goal when we broke away again with Eddie beating his man, he gets to the 18 yard box and squared the ball to Big Bill and he scored.

A dominate display by us today when we scored goals at ease. A brilliant team performance. Well done lads ????

We take this performance into next weeks game when we are back in league action against the current league holders Scaur. We will need to put in the same kind of performance if we want to take the win.
