We faced Dumfries tonight at the High school after both teams agreed to bring the game forward from Sunday rather than using a free week for the old firm game.

Dumfries are on a run of 2 defeats in their last 2 games where we had a moral boosting win on Sunday over the Waverley.

Like recent weeks we had a full quota of boys available for it once again which is pleasing to see. We've got a couple of long term injuries with Shannon and Bug but with the squad being in good spirits the pair of them are down supporting the boys from the sidelines.

The game started and in the opening half there wasn't much to report. A lot of football being played by both team but both defences were in fine form. Only 1 shot on target to mention was Milly's shot half-way through the half. The keeper made a good save from it.

Half time Wa 0 Dumfries 0

2nd half similar to the 1st both defences were standing tall and clearing everything.

We started to create some chances down the flanks, Scott made a good run from defence into the box but couldn't get a shot away.

We introduced our subs to freshen things up and that helped. Sean was looking dangerous up front and got an early shot away with the keeper again making a good save.

On the 85th minute we cleared our lines and KP chased down their right back and he tried to play the ball back to the keeper but he was out of position and the ball rolled into the empty net.

Dumfries tried to throw everything at us in the dying minutes but again our defence was solid.

We broke away ourselves with wee legs Jamie hitting a great shot which again the keeper made a good save from and tipped it round the post.

On the 2nd m minute of stoppage time Dumfries broke up field and we put the ball out for a corner. They swung the ball in and the big defender fell in a heap after turning in the box and bumped into Sean. Their sidelines screamed for a penalty but it was never a penalty. The ref waved play on and KP won the clearance and played it Sean who had made a good run from inside his own penalty box and held off the last defender and goalie who was way out his box and scored.

Another great win for the boys tonight in a tough close fought game.

Well done lads.
