ELLA started when Holmesdale's Media Manager Nik Pye noticed that Bromley is twinned with Neuwied in Germany and made contact with them. Together with father Andy Pye (Holmesdale Secretary), they realised that linking with similarly-sized football clubs across Europe could be really exciting. We have so much in common with the way clubs of our size operate and we all have much to learn from each other. So far, we have established links with clubs in Germany, Netherlands, Italy, Slovakia, Estonia and Finland. We intend to build the network by liaising with semi-pro and amateur clubs and leagues in European countries, local twinning organisations and local mayoralties. Perhaps in time, it could be as large as UEFA, but for lower level clubs!
