A service to celebrate Edward Harrisons’ life will be held at the Church of St Peter and St Paul, Cromer, on Tuesday 15 October 2019 at 12 noon.

Edward Harrison, a tower of strength for Holt RFC over nearly 60 years, passed away on 16 September. He will be very sadly missed by his farming and rugby family, and by those many friends throughout Norfolk and beyond.

Born into a farming family in 1933, Edward developed into a strong competitor and found rugby a sport to match his talents. On leaving school he played for Norwich RFC and, shortly after Holt RFC was founded in 1961, Edward joined Holt and subsequently put his great energies into initially playing for, and then developing the Club for over 50 years. He was Captain, Chairman and President of Holt RFC; over the following years always retaining a personal interest in the progress of the Club he loved. Edward was President of Norfolk RFU in 1990/1991.

He was very proud that his sons and grandsons continue his ethic of loyalty and effort on behalf of Holt RFC. His grandson Henry is currently Captain for the 2019/2020 season.

Holt RFC owes a huge debt of gratitude to the work, advice and guidance that Edward Harrison gave to our Club over his many years of involvement. A true rugby man, his legacy will live on through the Harrison family and a vibrant Holt RFC.

A service to celebrate Edward Harrisons’ life will be held at the Church of St Peter and St Paul, Cromer, on Tuesday 15 October 2019 at 12 noon. All who knew Edward will be welcome.
