The Holt Walk is open to walkers of all abilities and will take place in & around Holt on Sunday 27th September 2020. We appreciate times are very hard financially for many - but if you can spare it, the entrance fee is £15 per adult & £7.50 for children - for the charities.

Holt RFC Team
The event also has a team challenge and as such Holt RFC are delighted to be entering a team. Normally there is a limit of 12 walkers per team, however in our case there is no limit as to how many walkers we have in our team! This is because we are walking under the banner of Holt Rugby Club – but we won’t be walking together as one group.

Covid-19
The walkathon will follow all government mandated policy regarding Covid-19 on public gatherings and social distancing, with stringent risk assessments having been passed by North Norfolk District Council. There will be no gathering crowds allowed to watch, and although Holt High Street will be closing for the Event, there will be no street entertainment allowed. The walk start times will be staggered from 9am, we’ll be walking different choices of routes & distances, with social distancing to be adhered to at all times.

Routes
The walkathon is suitable for all ages and abilities, with walkers choosing from 4 routes of either 4,000 steps (roughly 2 miles), 7,500, 12,000 or 20,000 steps (roughly 10 miles). The concept reflects the modern trend for people trying to get more active, who like to think about distance in terms of the steps measured using a wearable device or smartphone app. The 4,000-step route is most accessible for wheelchair users.

Charities
Holt Rugby Club want to support our local community and the 3 local volunteer based charities who will benefit are:
The Friends of Kelling Hospital,
Holt Rotary Club &
Holt Community Centre,
all of whose usual fundraising activities have been curtailed due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
As an extra benefit, for every 20 registrations on the walk, Hopkins Homes will plant one tree in the local area to help offset the carbon produced by the event.

Under the banner of Holt Rugby Club, each of us paying our registration fee under the team name of Holt RFC, let’s see if WE can be the largest fundraiser the event has for these worthwhile causes!

For those individuals wishing to join in with team Holt RFC, please follow these simple instructions (trust me it was very quick & easy):
Important: You are adding your registration to a team already created (by me) – Team name is Holt RFC, and as such you are not an Individual Adult Walker, but a Team Adult Walker.
You are adding your registration to our team Holt RFC.
The entrance fee is £15.00 each (£7.50 for those aged 5-17).
Initially you’ll need to provide your email address and create a password, to sign up. Then you’ll need to give your personal details, including an emergency contact.
After creating your account with Race Roster, you’ll be asked to activate it by email.
At this point you need to decide the distance you’re signing up for!
Within the £15 fee, you also receive an Event T-shirt which we each collect as part of a Walk Pack from the event start Marshall tent.
Please be mindful during the registration process that you’ll be asked for a donation amount. This is not the £15 registration fee, but a donation on top. Just click the x to clear this page unless you wish to donate more.

After paying, you’ll be given a confirmation number and sent an Event Confirmation email.
You can invite others to join the Holt RFC team, which I did with my husband! He received an email saying as such, and just needed to click ‘Join this team now’.

Our start times will be notified to us one week before the start.
