Holt remain unbeaten so far this season

Thank you to Iain MacBrayne for this match report:
This was another bonus point win for Holt but in a cliff-hanger finish they had to dig deep to fend off a late surge by an Ely side who never let Holt get too far ahead.
Holt started strongly and within 10 minutes were 12 points ahead. Ollie Woodrow was first to score when he gathered his own kick ahead,
outpaced the Ely defence and touched down between the Ely posts for a try converted by number ten, Ollie Jaggard, who was making his debut start for the first team. It was then the turn of winger, Henry Flower to show his pace down the right wing before slipping the ball to Henry Harrison for an unconverted try.
Ely responded with their winger, Luke Turner, cutting through the Holt defence for a try converted by Joel Scottpaul making it 7 - 12.
A spell of even play followed until the Holt pack produced a well executed driving maul which drove Henry Harrison over the line from 20 metres out with Ollie Jaggard converting for a 7 - 19 lead.
Ely responded with a period of possession and their own driving maul resulted in James Storey touching down . Joel Scottpaul failed to convert but soon after reduced their deficit to 15 - 19 with a well-struck penalty.
Just before the half-time whistle Holt's captain, Ashley Woods, touched down for a try converted by Ollie Jaggard giving the visitors a four try bonus point and a 15 - 26 lead.
Early in the second half Ely closed the gap with a penalty by Joel Scottpaul and Holt responded with an Ollie Jaggard penalty making it 18 - 29.
As the game entered the final quarter Ely mounted several attacks on the Holt line and were rewarded with a try for Jacob Muncey converted by Scottpaul.
Holt's centre, Matt Howell, who had an excellent game, then set up a try for Henry Flower who skipped around three defenders for an unconverted try extending Holt's lead to 25 - 34.
Ely were not finished and came back strongly. Desperate defending by Holt resulted in two yellow cards and, while reduced to thirteen men, Holt held out until just before the final whistle when Ely second row Mitchell Kennett crossed the line and Scottpaul converted to make the final score 32 - 34.
The Norfolk Brewhouse 'Man of the Match' for Holt was open side wing forward, Henry Harrison.
