It's long been thought that Club Chairman LucCharmasson's age was covered by the Official Secrets Act, but it's recently been discovered that he's reached the grand old age of 50.
In the late 90s when Luc first joined Valley it was hoped that he'd bring some Gallic flair to the Club's backline, however we quickly realised why they'd exiled him to Canada, who in turn passed on his sporting talents.
Equally adept at full back or wing (he can drop a high ball in both positions) Luc established himself as a valuable member of the Club, playing regularly for the 1st XV before becoming 2nd XV captain for the 2012-13 season.
Luc had an enviable record of scoring a try in every season from his first with Valley until 2021-22, due largely to his support running, although his frequent post-match proximity to the bar may suggest that some of those try scoring passes were more than great teamwork.
For the 2014-15 season Luc was elected as Club Chairman, a role he holds to this day as no-one has been able to rival his club dinner speeches.
On behalf of all at Hope Valley RFC I'd like to wish him a very happy birthday.
