Given the horrendous recent weather it came as no great surprise that Valley's scheduled visit to Didsbury Toc H was called off and referred to the NOWIRUL "pools panel" and, from my point of view, it was no surprise that they classed it as a draw.
On a weekend when just one game was actually played, it was a result that benefited neither team as Valley's closest rivals for the second promotion spot, Macclesfield and Ashton-on-Mersey, were both awarded wins whilst it left 5th placed Didsbury still trailing 4th placed Valley by 14 points.
Valley will have yet another free Saturday next week (22 Feb) as it's the quarter finals of the Robinson's Brewery Shield, but will be hoping to return to action the following week (29 Feb) with a first ever visit to Wythenshawe RUFC.
