players from the week before it was a good all round performance and horsley young U17 goalkeeper stephen lydiard stepped up to play his 1st game in mens football .Admittedly they will play stronger opposition in the forthcoming games, but it was pleasing the way we got the ball down and played . And in fairness to Old Wokinians this was the 1st game they had played but they kept battling away it was hard for them as it was 5 at halftime. The reserves have one more friendly before they kick off there league season a week sat and with 40 players now signed the club have lots of competition for places for both 1st & ressies. One thing that stood out saturday is that a few of the boys need to work on there fitness as the second half the game levelled out when they should have been more match fitter than old woks. So a good run out and a chance to look at some more lads who have not played up to now . Once the fitness levels come up we should have 2 good squads this season with plenty of lads able to step up to 1st team when needed.
