The Houghton girls travelled to Hartlepool Rovers with a reduced squad with the hope of finishing their shortened season unbeaten.
Houghton started the strongest, applying superb pressure from the kick off to the Hartlepool defences. After 5 minutes following superb continuity of play from both forwards and backs, Georgia Massey broke through the Hartlepool defences to score Houghton's first try of the match. Summer O'Brien kicked the conversion.
This set the tone for the rest off the evening and despite the valiant, hard working efforts of the Hartlepool girls earning themselves two tries; Houghton's power, handling and pace dominated all match, allowing Houghton to run out clear winners and scoring a further 8 tries, including a hat-trick from Megan Riley and Summer O'Brien converting a further three.
Overall an excellent performance from the Houghton girls that saw great contributions from all players and was a fitting tribute to captain Charlotte Purvis who was playing her last U18s game before moving up to senior rugby.
