Huntly senior men travelled to Balgownie playing fields to take on top of the table Uni medics.
the medics started brightly and showed why they have a 100% record this season. half way through the first half huntly started to claw their way back into the game but could not get over the white wash. solid set pieces through out the first half allowed good ball for the backs to play with and good yards were made by all, however just coming up short.
the second half started in much the same way as the first with huntly unable to build on their efforts. medics showed what a well drilled team they are and the benifits of a team that can train and play together, the huntly lads fought all the way to the final whistle and the final score does not reflect the effort that everyone in a green and gold shirt put in.
final score at balgownie, Uni Medics 84 - Huntly 0
the Huntly senior XV have only one game left this season and with this year being a massive rebuild and restart for the team the lads have worked hard and unfortunately their efforts have not always been rewarded. this season we have had the privilege to have some of last years u18s play their first seniors rugby, we have seen father and son play alongside each other, welcomed back some players that had taken time away from the game and also encourage new players that have never played a competitive match before get out onto the pitch. onwards and upwards.
