Hope you are enjoying the summer. Following on from the club AGM here is an e-mail to keep you all up to date.

Firstly Carl Perrin stepped down as club chairman due to other commitments. We would like to thank him for the wonderful job he did in his time in the chair and I'm sure he will still be involved heavily at the club.

Next I would like to welcome the new chairman Mr Mles Higginson, I'm sure you all know Miles who is a regular traveller to away matches with the teams, he is keen to continue the good work that the club has been doing recently and we wish him all the best, If you would like his contact details please let me know.

The rest of the committee remains the same.

Captains have been voted in for the forth coming season. Jay O'Beirne is the First XV captain with Billy Morley-Williams Vice. Mariners Skipper is Sam Morgan-Russell with vice captain Nathan (Chocco) Townsend. Again we would like to welcome them aboard and wish them all the best for the season.

2012/13 Memebrship

It's the time of year when membership is due for renewal, after much discussion at the AGM. It was decided that although our membership fee is one of the lowest at any club in any sport in the country and we have not increased the price for at least 7 years that I know of. Those present agreed to keep the fees at £25 for all players & VP's with non players at increasing slightly to £3 and under 18 non players free.

This is a very generous price for playing membership, feel free to discuss it with opposing teams after a match and you may get a shock at what they cough up. Remember we are a non profit making club run entirely by volunteers with all funds going back into the club. We are also a members only bar so you must be a member to buy a drink and at £3 for a year there is no excuses. Players are also covered by the RFU insurance, but only if membership is paid. Basically if your not a paid up palyer, then you cannot play.

We have now installed a card machine behind the bar so memberships etc can now be paid by card for your ease.

We are looking into issueing membership cards so once you paid you should receive your card.

You can pay by quarterley standing order by filling in the attached membership form and forwarding it to me, details on form. If you are already paying by S/O then you need not worry as everything will continue as it is. Membership form attached.

Can I also make it clear that we do not have personal injury insurance for the players. The RFU offered minimal cover but if you require higher cover then you will need to arrange your own which I know some players do have.

Please encourage people to sign up to our e-mail for these updates or if someone has a new address let me know.
