The 1st XI made it through to their first cup semi-final since 1997 with a convincing win over Division One side Mount.
Bowling first, the home side put on 53 for the first wicket before Jamie Moorhouse made the breakthrough. Stephen Cook followed with three more wickets as the home side's middle order faltered. Mahmad Hanif Kayat (37) top scored for Mount, but was removed towards the tail-end of the innings by Luke Brooksby, who finished with 3 for 19. Ben Robertshaw and Matthew Watson had ensured wickets kept falling regularly throughout the innings to leave Mount with a below-par total of 155.
In reply, Matthew Smith and Callum Cook punished the bad ball, putting on 131 for the first wicket. Smith (68) fell with the target in sight when he was bowled around his legs, but Cook (65*) secured the victory with nearly 23 overs to spare.
