Poor batting costs 2nd XI again
By Luka Brooksby
Greetland 145 for 9 beat Illingworth 81 all out by 64 runs
Illingworth's batting let them down once again as they succumbed to a second league defeat out of three.
Matthew Curran continued his good form with the ball, taking 4 for 21, as the hosts were restricted to 145 for 9. Robert Hunt batted through for the home side with an unbeaten 63.
Zahid Iqbal scored over half of Illingworth's runs with 41, but Stuart Thompson (18) and Kieran Heaton (11) were the only other batters to reach double figures. When Ben Fearnley was the last man to fall, there were still over 13 overs to bat.
