Leicester road were formed following Hinckley United folding in October 2013. Leicester Road were established on 4 November 2013 and play at the main stadium in Hinckley. The new club was accepted into Division Two of the newly formed Midland League for the 2014–15 season. They were runners-up in their first season, earning promotion to Division One

The club have recent history in this final as in 2016–17 the club won the Leicestershire and Rutland Senior Cup, beating Holwell Sports 2–1 in the final. Compared to Ingles where this is their first time in this final.
