1st team manager Matt Smith has decided to bring an end to his second spell as 1st team manager at the end of the current season.

Matt has been Ingles most successful manager ever after leading the club to Senior League glory in 2017/18 and our first season as a step 6 club where we have performed admirably and will comfortable finish mid table. Matt has overseen our first ever FA Vase campaign which saw us defeat big spending Melton Town and just lose out to higher league Rugby Town. Since Matt took over (including his first spell) The club has gone from park football and the North Leicestershire League to Step 6 in 6 seasons. A remarkable rise that couldn't have been achieved without Matts work and efforts.

As with most people life gets in the way and makes it hard to manage football teams all the time. Matt has a young family that deserves his time as well as a growing business and the time required to manage a step 6 club subsequently and understandably takes a back seat. Im sure Steph, Archie and Arthur will still be seen at a lot of our games, Archie causing trouble and Steph flipping burgers ;-)!!

Matt as a person has brought even more to the club than just silverware. He works hard behind the scenes in attracting sponsors ( a lot from his own company) and promoting local players into the club. Matt wont be leaving the club and will be staying on the committee to help maintain the club at step 6 and help push us further forward. Im sure he is looking forward to tucking into some of the leagues hospitality at away games as well as the famous Mickey Lowes spread at the Dovecote.

Everybody connected to the cub would like to thank Matt for all of his hard work throughout the last few years and wish him, his family and company well moving forward.

* A new management team will be announced shortly
