A lovely day for it and we really did ourselves proud today. A particular thank you to Matt M, Rowland, Harry, George, Archie and Fergus for going over to the reds for a half and playing your hardest. It is really important to play the game in the spirit that is set out by the league and not try to exploit or manipulate situations to suit as some teams do and today I am so proud of all the boys.The game was exciting to watch and at points nail biting! 8 tries to Panthers with 2 converted and 5 to Richmond with 4 converted led to a much narrower score line than it should have been.
Tries were scored by Joe, Tommy, Tristan, Desi, Harry, Fergus and Will. Our defence was much improved with tackles being made more consistently but the lapses in line speed allowed Richmond to find the gaps in our defence. Some excellent on line defence should have stopped a try but after 2 repeat D sets due to silly mistakes resulted in us succumbing to the pressure.
Some unforced errors from us on tackle 1/2 also led to us being under more pressure than was needed.
Our attack goes from strength to strength and we ran good lines and supported each other fantastically.
Well done all, need to crank it up a notch now going into the final leg of the league to ensure we make the playoffs!.
