Although the 2s may have started slow, with 20 minutes of adjusting to the bounciness if the Magpies pitch, we managed to save Pete's hair on the sideline by changing our sixteens and passing through the midfield more effectively. The calmer play led to more possession on our side which soon resulted in a goal from Eloise off a one on one with the Magpies goalie. Magpies responded to this with some crash balls through the centre, which demanded some nail biting saves from Allie, which resulted in her earning a well deserved man of the match. After some calm and collected transfers through defence, and numerous silky skills from the midfield, the attackers were able to display their speed around the attacking 23. Amber and Maddy both raced around multiple defenders and Elosie joined the party with two more goals. After Eloise secured her second hatrick of the season, she decided it was ok for someone else to get in on the goal scoring glory and Magpies managed to score off a short corner. This was only after a goal was saved with an outfield players foot and Allie the ninja managed to save the subsequent penalty flick. Near the end some agricultural defending came in to match the torrential weather, and several cards were awarded for both teams. The Ipswich defence kept control well, with some brilliant tackles from Jess B, Kim and Betty. A good game from all, continuing the teams winning streak of the season.
