Ipswich's first home game of the season started well against Cambridge University with both teams evenly matched.
Ipswich took the lead mid way through the first half from a string of passes and Josh Cutting drawing two players before passing to Devitt who slotted the ball in the back of the net.
Ipswich then saw two key players, Johnson and Southgate, picking up injuries and leaving a hole in Ipswich's centre. The Ipswich manager Ben Underwood reshuffled the formation the formation and utilised the bench. However, Cambridge scored two goals in quick succession, leaving Ipswich down 2-1 at the break.
After a team talk from Southgate, Ipswich came out strong in the second half and Cutting soon leveled the scores through a quick one-two with Edwards and then striking the balls through the keeper's legs.
Cambridge continued to run and use the legs of their bench and eventually got past the Ipswich defenders to score the winning goal. Ipswich had a chance to level the scores late on in the game but Edwards' shot was just wide.
