It has been brought to our attention this morning that a number of unacceptable social media posts were sent out yesterday by one of our players, after our away fixture at macclesfield FC.
The posts were offensive to all those involved at Macclesfield FC and are a matter of severe embarrassment to all at IRLAM FOOTBALL CLUB.
At IRLAM FC , players are reminded of their obligations when representing our Club, and particularly the dangers of social media, that when used negatively can cause hurt and embarrasment.
We will continue to educate players on the misuse of media platforms, to do our utmost to ensure that there is no repeat of this unacceptbale behaviour.
The player involved has been contacted and a further comment will be made today.
Our sincere apologies to all those involved at Macclesfield FC, the directors, and particularly Robbie Savage who has been very supportive of our situation.
