As the first half of the season draws to an end we wanted to thank you for your support. We have loved coaching your children and have had a lot of fun watching them improve every week. We hope that they (and you) have enjoyed it as much as we have. We continue to grow in numbers all the time which is wonderful and we would ask you all encourage new members; the more the merrier.
We are at home this Sunday for training and the following Sunday, 8th December, the Under7s are hosting Old Emmanuel for a friendly – they haven’t yet confirmed whether they are bringing any Under 6s but I would guess this is unlikely.
The final session before Christmas will be the 15th December. This will be a short session followed by a Christmas party in the club house and hopefully a visit from a special guest (we are looking for a Santa volunteer??). As in previous years the Club will be providing food for the adults.
We would be very grateful if parents could provide food for the children, with the U5, U6 and Under 8s year groups bringing sweet food such as biscuits, cakes etc. and the U7s, 9s, 10s and 11s bringing savoury food such as pizza, sandwiches, chipolatas, sausage rolls, crisps etc.
It would be very helpful if parents could bring in any food on disposable dishes/plates.
We will return to on the 12th January (not the 5th as previously stated) at Motspur Park. We are hosting 2 other clubs at Under 7s upwards so we are expecting lots of visitors and cars ! so suggest that you arriver a little earlier than normal.
We will play in all weathers (within reason) and unless you receive an email or the website states otherwise assume training is on as we enter the 'cold season'.
Please ensure the children are dressed appropriately particularly gloves and layers.
As you know the Club is run on a voluntary basis and we are always looking for helpers in any capacity.
Please do speak to Fraser or Claire if you are able to help out. In addition to a manager for the Under 7s (Claire is filling this role on a temporary basis as her children are in Under 8s and Under 6s) and additional coaches are desperately needed for the Under 7s
The club desperately needs a fixture secretary. Chris, who has been doing the job for many years has stepped aside as his youngest son has now moved up to Juniors (13+). He has put the fixtures in place for this year and so these just need to be confirmed in the run up to the fixtures. And then they need to re-booked for next year. As I understand it most of the job can be managed by e-mail.
And finally........
To keep going the club relies upon the kind support from sponsors and donors to supplement the subsciptions and event income.
To raise funds for the club, we are organising a Kings Rugby Burns Night on 17th January 2014. We would love to see you there, it is a brilliant night out, and it would be fabulous if you wanted to come along or organise a table (6-12 people). Please don’t hesitate to let us know if you are keen. We will also be hosting a raffle and silent auction and as the attached letter shows we are looking for prizes to this. Please let us know if you are able to help.
Thanks again for your continued support.
Best wishes
Fraser, Claire and all the coaches
