Eight try spectacle delights spectators.

Tries from Leon Hobson-Sherrif (3), Jack McHugh, Alex Feather, Zach Scott & Keir Welch gave Keighley a comfortable 41 - 5 win.

Keighley Kicked off and immediately exerted pressure on the Castleford team.

Turnover ball to the right on the Cass 22m allowed Keighley to pass the ball along the backs line to Leon Hobson-Sheriff who crossed for his first out wide on the left.
Ethan Lawrie hit the post with his long range conversion attempt.

Jack McHugh gathered he ball from the restart with a fine take and broke towards the Castleford line.
Unfortunately the ball was lost in contact and Keighley were forced to display their solid defence.

A midfield ruck provided the platform for Keighley to set their backs in motion again.
Slick passing got the ball to Jack McHugh who broke the line and raced across the Castleford whitewash to score.
Ethan Lawrie added the conversion.

Castleford started to raise their pace and a period of midfield stalemate was only broken when a long ball from a lineout was seized by Alex Feather who managed to hand off the Castleford defence and wrestle the ball over the line for another try.
The conversion attempt was unsuccessfull.

Cass were once again roused to greater efforts and pressure from the restart saw a lineout on the keighley 22m.
A maul and drive followed and a well orchestrated blindside break allowed the Castleford forwards to bundle over the line for five points.

Keighleys restart was returned by Castleford to the 10m line where they conceded a penalty for not releasing.
A quick take by Ethan Lawrie, an accurate pass and Leon Hobson-Sheriff used his speed and power to outpace the Castleford defence and score under the posts.

Halftime

From the restart Keighley exerted even more pressure, all players eager to carry the ball or tackle an opponent.

A Castleford lineout saw Keighley poach the ball and set up a series of three drives and sets

Castleford eventually gained a scrum from a Keighley knock on.
There was to be no respite for the Castleford forwards as they were pushed off the ball by the Keighley pack.
Alex Feather picked up from the back of the scrum and made an explosive break down the line before being forced into touch.
Castleford collected the ball from the lineout on their 22m.
A scything tackle from Ethan Lawrie allowed Leon Hobson Sheriff to collect the ball and put the Keighley backs in motion again.
Three slick passes and Zach Scott jinked through the Cass defence and scored to the right of the posts.
Leon Hobson-Sheriff added the extra points.

Mistakes from both sides started to creep into the game.

A break from Castleford forced a fine cover tackle from Leon Hobson-Sheriff who with cat like reflexes sprung to his feet, pounced on the ball and raced 60m to score a fine individual effort.

Castleford again redoubled their efforts.
The restart was knocked on by Keighley and only a great cover tackle by Bobby Darbyshire stopped the resulting break.
Ethan Lawrie secured the ball and it was whisked along the back line to Dan Smillie who fended off the Castleford defender and popped a perfectly timed pass to Jack Rodbourne who broke down the line.

Castleford were awarded a scrum in midfield and chose to try a high kick over the Keighley defence.
Joel Waddington was equal to the task and collecting the ball weaving and ducking returned it into Cass midfield linking with his forwards.
A long pass to Lucas Ryan and on to Keir Welch who showed good hands and scrambled across the line for Keighleys final try.
Ethan Lawrie punched the ball between the posts for the extra points.

Coaches Comment:
Keighley U14's conquer Castleford.
Keighley fresh from their tough Yorkshire Cup victory agsinst Selby the previous week put a game but under-strength Castleford to the sword.
Playing their second string squad from the start, Keighley were able to dominate and dispute disruptive changes throughout the game held the upper hand with a great performance from the complete squad to avenge the loss suffered last season.

'We played well and got the ball through the hands well but we are still lacking in support and need to work on rucking in pairs'
