Last minute try favours West Park in a 20 - 24 blustery battle.

Wet and windy conditions assailed the teams as they lined up for the kick off on a very muddy pitch.
The conditions contributed to the ball going out on the full from the kick off.

A high kick and chase was fielded well by Bobby Darbyshire and Keighley to concede a line out 5m from their line.
The throw in was secured and the cleared by Lennon Curr.

Keighley slogged their way up field.
A fantastic crunching tackle from Keir Welch at the base of a scrum gave the Keighley forwards a great platform from which they powered up field.
James Field led by example on receiving the ball and drove at the West Park defence, battering his way forward.

West Park recovered and made ground.
A hefty kick and chase and West Park won the muddy race to touch down and score.
The conversion was good.

Keighley made a determined restart, Nico Mori securing a turnover.
Leon Hobson Sherrif received the ball and outpaced the defence to break 30m and score.
The conversion attempt was unsuccessful.

West Park undaunted worked their way to the Keighley 22m from the restart.
Desperate defence from Keighley conceded a penalty and the West Park forwards drove over the line to score.
The conversion was successful.

Keighley raised their game and turned over a line out mid field.
The West Park defence was put under pressure by a kick and chase from Ethan Lawrie and Matthew Lister.
Jack Mchugh & Leon Hobson Sherrif linked well and popped the ball to Edward Stewart who crossed the line to score.
The conversion was unsuccessful.

Halftime

Conditions had not improved for the restart.
A testing kick and chase from Josh Tenniswood put West Park on the back foot.
Leon Hobson Sherrif stole the ball and fed Jack Rodbourne who smashed his way through the defence to score.
The conversion attempt was narrowly missed.

15 - 14

Keighley looked to capitalise and good linking play from Josh Slingsby and Ethan Lawrie put Jack Mchugh into a gap and he showed his pace leaving the defence wallowing in the mud and raced 30m to score.
The conversion was pushed wide.

20 - 14

Keighley were in charge from the restart until West Park kicked high and long towards the Keighley line, the West Park fullback winning the race for the ball and scoring.
The conversion attempt was short.

As conditions worsened West Park tried the kick and chase twice more, both times the ball being comfortably cleared.

West Park were awarded a line out 10m from the Keighley line.
Ethan Lawrie managed to tap down the long throw.
Keighleys clearance kick was caught by the West Park winger who returned the ball well and crossed the line to score.
The conversion attempt was unsuccessful.
