Kensington & Ealing Borough FC

Back to winning ways

After last week's loss Borough we keen to bounce back against a determined AFC Hayes side who came into this game full of confidence.
They were clearly in high spirits as they took the lead after Borough failed to deal with a long ball within 2 minutes of the game kicking off. This was not the start that Borough needed but it certainly was the wake up call that the boys reacted to.
After the goal it was all Borough having the majority of the ball & looking dangerous every time we had the ball. It didn't take long for a response & that goal came via a tidy finish from the left hand side by Walid Hersi. The ball went in behind the Hayes back line & off he was leaving the Hayes captain chewing on the turf. 1-1.

Again Borough continued to push forward & goal number 2 came not long after the 1st. This time Walid turned into provider. His direct running caused all sorts of problems for the full back & a wicked cross into the box allowed Eva Batousol the chance to turn in Borough's second of the day. 2-1. Borough were now in full control of the game having the lion's share of the ball. Two meaty tackles from Shadrach Williams & Eva Batousol let the Hayes players know what type of afternoon they were in for.
Just before half time Hayes grabbed a lifeline as a scramble in the box led to an unfortunate
goal making the score 2-2.

The second half started with AFC Hayes being the team with the majority of the ball this time. A few half chances for the away side was not enough to trouble keeper Hossam Hassan between the sticks. As the clock continued to tick we started to wonder if it was going to be one of them games but things were about to change. A ball out wide allowed Eva Batousol to charge forward at speed, yet again leaving that poor full back to chase shadows before the ball was delivered into Jabir Laraba's feet who expertly shifted onto his left before a low finish into the net #1004.

New signing Melchi Emanuel-Williamson was brought on to steady the ship & he done just that using his big frame to his advantage. Late chances from Jamarl Joseph & Bilal Bihi were saved by the keeper but the damage was already done. Mohamed Turay got sent for an early shower after a moment of madness but that did not take the gloss of this win.

A massive 3 points as the conquest continues.
COYB!!!!!
