End of Season Celebration

By Elizabeth Roche

We had a great time celebrating achievements, saying thanks to our volunteers & supporters, and presenting trophies to our award winners!

The evening started with some healthily competitive netball matches between our members and their parents / family members / boyfriends etc. We certainly spotted a few talented players amongst them, and it seemed that great fun was had by all, with some of the Mums considering trying “Back to Netball” by the end (click here for details if you have got the bug!). It should be noted that some people were perfectly prepared to go in hard on their children…… incriminating photos to follow!

We were blessed with some beautiful weather, and the venue at the County Ground, Beckenham was amazing – made even better by some inspiring top-notch women’s cricket being played by Kent, Middlesex & Sussex. Whilst the matches were ongoing, there was also a lot of rivalry on the “last man standing” inflatable from adults and kids alike!

Next up was the presentation with the chance to say thanks to all of our committee, volunteers, and umpires without whom the Club wouldn’t run. We were also able to review the season’s achievements (all results and tables can be found on the website), and to congratulate all those selected into the talent pathway this year (click here). Club colours were awarded to those making their Premier League debuts this year (for a full list of all Colours holders, click here).

The final business of the night was to present the trophies to our Most Improved Players, and to the Players of the Year for each team. A full list of the award winners can be found by clicking here – huge congratulations to everyone, very well deserved.

We are already looking forward to the new season ahead!
