Rain doesn't stop play!

A cold, wet and muddy Sunday morning saw KEW AFC U14's face off against Crystal Palace for an away league game.

Once again Crystal Palace proved to be unlucky for KEW. What should have been, on paper, an easy game, proved anything but that! Crystal Palace came out all guns blaring, chasing every ball and tackle, proving to be tough opponents, in even tougher conditions.

It only took 17 minutes for Crystal Palace to break our defence and score to make it 1-0 to them. The rest of the 1st half saw the play at both ends, with the balance of play in KEW's favour. A lot of our chances were not converted and we went into half time 1-0 down.

Second half was much the same with Crystal Palace showing their determination to chase every ball. KEW re-grouped and kept attacking, having most of the possession, however the 'offside trap' caught us out on many occasions. KEW kept on and had a few chances without converting and were caught out, against the run of play, with a second goal for Crystal Palace, making it 2-0 to Crystal Place, on 48 mins.

So 2-0 down, KEW battled on and only 5 mins later hit the back of the net. Once again KEW had most of the possession with a few chances in front of goal going wide. on 59 minutes (only 6 mins after their first goal) KEW managed to equalise, making it 2-2.

And 2-2 it should have finished, however with one of the last attacks of the game Crystal Palace managed to break our defence to steal the win at 3-2.

A shame, as the game deserved to be a draw.
