Kew played a top game against one of the Premier League big guns, showing great attacking pace and skill to push Wimbledon all the way. The match was a great spectacle, as Kew's speed, skill and passing game matched Wimbledon's power and strength.
The girls fell behind to a goal midway through the first half, as Wimbledon punished us for a defensive slip. Soon, however, we hit back with a terrific leveller. A neat exchange of passes led to a burst down the right wing, and a pinpoint cross turned in from six yards.
The second half remained tight, but with Kew on the front foot. Soon the girls were ahead as another series of passes cut open the Wimbledon's defence.
We defended well, ran the midfield with acumen, and with rapier attacks had many chances to grab a winner. In the end, we settled for a draw after a fine game.
