Kidlington’s second string have had a good week, last Saturday they had a resounding victory against Wantage Town’s Development side, winning 4-0. The win put them through to the third round of the Hellenic Challenge Cup. The undoubted star of the show was Elliott Powell (pictured) who netted all four goals. The match also saw 16 year old Archie Brew come on with 30 minutes to go and set up Powells final strike on 86 minutes.
On Tuesday the greens followed this up with a last gasp away draw against Wallingford Town in Hellenic Division One East. This time they fell behind to a 25 minute strike from Town’s Ashley Searle. The second half saw constant pressure from the away side and substitute Sam Elbro smashed in a stoppage time equaliser. The added bonus was a first competitive appearance in a green shirt since his return to the club for left back Mark Flanagan.
Next up is Holyport at Yarnton Road in a league match on Saturday 7th September 3pm kick off.
