This match will take place at Hythe & Dibden's Clayfields Gound on Saturday 7th September, kick off 3:00pm.
Hythe & Dibden Football Club are based in Hythe, near Southampton in Hampshire. They are currently members of the Wessex League Division One and play at Clayfields.
Our hosts have so far had an unbeaten start to their season in Division One, which incidentally is the same league level in the football pyramid that our Development side play in. Hythe & Dibden have won two and drawn one of their first 3 league matches, whilst they have already played and beaten AFC Portchester 2-2 (3-2 in the replay) & Horndean FC 2-1 last saturday.
H & D have a long history as a football club which according to records dates back to their formation in 1902, I also note that their colours are Green & White so it looks like we maybe in our away strip for this game.
For those that may like to travel to support the club here's the address and directions -
Hythe & Dibden FC,
Take the A34 to Southampton, then take A35, Marchwood By-Pass/A326 and Main Rd. Travel along the A326, at the Dibden roundabout take the first left into Southampton Road. Continue for approx half a mile and then turn right into Claypits Lane before the Shell Filling Station and the ground is 100 yards on your left. Car parking is available at the ground. The total mileage is approximately 80 mile, 160 return.
Last note, We should never take these lower league sides lightly as the FA Cup has the ability to bring out the best in them, 100% concentration & application will be required by all. Hopefully what I write now should be more than enough incentive for everyone, first round qualifying winners receive £4,500 whilst the losers still pick up £1,500.
