In the bright sunshine we won this local derby against Thame 3 - 0 at Yarnton Road Stadium

Kidlington 3 Thame United 0

Kidlington stated the game well pressing Thame really hard and it was no surprise that after only 4 minutes The Greens had the lead. A superb run and strike from Leam Howards saw his shot flash across goal and go in via the far post, a splendid effort.
During this period Kidlington really pressed on for another and chances were there for them to do just that. Howards strike partner Kyreece Martei was through on goal but was only able to shoot tamely, soon followed by another chance for Howards, who snapped at his shot and the ball went wide. Howards was the provider of the next chance, this time for Lewis Coyle from the center of the box, but the magician only ended up completely mishitting his attempt at goal.
As the half progressed, slowly Thame began to get a foothold in proceedings, but it was past the half hour mark before they managed a shot on goal, this from Andy Gladhill which keeper Christian Laurence fielded easily.
The second period was again played in extreamly hot conditions in front of a good crowd of 109 and Kidlington were again having the lions share of possession, much as the 1st half. On 56 minutes summer signing Kaylem Patterson come off the bench to replace a tiring Martai and he was almost immediately involved in a good chance for Howards. Patterson's shot was palmed by visiting keeper Craig Hill straight into the path of Howards, however from close range the striker slipped and the ball was fielded by Hill. Howards amended the situation soon after when he hammered a shot into the net from the edge of the box for 2 - 0 on 59 minutes.
On 66 minutes the excellent Howards was substituted off to be replaced by Chris Jordan. This proved to be an inspired substitution as from a Coyle corner Tommy Castle headed the ball down and with his very first touch Jordan slammed the ball into the back of the net for 3 - 0.
On 77 minutes a limping Ben Willoughby was replaced by Harry Williams. Tommy Castle himself was unlucky when from another Coyle corner he rose well and headed the ball back across goal, it beat Hill but came back off the far post and was cleared. After this incident The Grens slowed proceedings and easily saw the rest of the match out to record their first league points of this season.
This great result follows hot on the heals of the tremendous 4 - 1 win at Bishops Cleeve in the FA Cup last Saturday, so 2 wins in 3 days.... Come On You Greens.

Team - Laurence, Tooke, Castle, Martin, West, Gabbidon, Coyle, Willoughby (Williams 77), Howards (Jordan 66), Martei (Patterson 56), Singh.
Subs unused - Flanagan & Quaterman.
