Come On You Greens.....read on

Evo-stik League South Central Division One
Dunstable Town 0 Kidlington 3

The Greens travelled back from Bedfordshire with all 3 points after an excellent 3 – 0 win against Dunstable Town at Creasy Park Stadium.

The 1st half of this match was a pretty dour affair, if truth be told. Both sides’ defences were certainly on top as the teams struggled to create anything in the last third that may have offered opportunity to open the scoring. Kidlington had the better share of possession but with Dunstable playing deep it was proving difficult for them.
The second half was a completely different affair. Dunstable came our in a more attacking mode and for the first 5 minutes or so had Kidlington a little on the back foot. This pressure soon eased as Kidlington began to take control again with Lewis Coyle, Declan Benjamin, Lewis Gabbidon and Ben Willoughby stamping their authority in midfield.
On 58 minutes Kidlinton made a double substitution taking off Willoughby and Chris Jordan and replacing them with Elliott Osborne-Ricketts and Darius Browne.
These substitution of fresh legs started to add impetus to the Kidlington attack and only a good save from home keeper Connor Coulson prevented Lewis Coyle giving The Greens the lead in the 63rd minute.
Finally the Dunstable defence was breached, leading scorer Anaclet Odhiambo opened the scoring when he toe poked home a miss-hit Lewis Coyle shot in the 67th minute.
After this goal Liam Talboys, who has been missing because of injury since very early in the season came on to replace a tiring Declan Benjamin
On 75 minutes 2 of the Kidlington substitutes combined superbly. Darius Browne jinked his was down the left flank before delivering superb ball into the box, Liam Tallboys met it with a stunning diving header but was thwarted by and even better save from keeper Coulson.
Kidlington didn’t have to wait long after this for their second goal, on79 minutes Dancing Darius Browne made it 2 - 0 with a fine individual goal. Browne beat 2 players in the box before completely wrong footing a third and smashing home an unstoppable shot, great goal this.
Kidlington were all over Dunstable now and only another top save from Coulson denied Kidlington a third goal. Anaclet Odhiambo was clean through but Coulson stood tall and was able to flick away his shot in the 87th minute.
The scoring was finally wrapped up right on the 90 minute mark, youngster Josh Took who’d had a great game, blasted a powerful drive past the home keeper for 3-0.
We then played through around 4 minutes of added time but couldn’t conjure up another goal.
On the day was another good all round performance from Julian McCalmons team. It has to be said that besides the victory there was also another major plus, Liam Talboy's who's been missing for virtually the whole season because of injury came on as a second half sub and played superbly, just like having a new signing.
This win means The Greens climb up to 17th place in the table, 2 places above the relegation zone, but nobody at Kidlington is going to take the finger of the pulse in their bid to avaid the dreaded drop.
