Sam was injured in our match away at Cambridge City on Saturday......please read on

On behalf of the Management Players and Officials of Kidlington FC may I extend a heartfelt thank you to all at Cambridge City FC who helped our Captain and Goalkeeper Sam Warrell after he sustained a serious leg injury during the second half of the game last Saturday.
In particular we would wish to praise the efforts of City’s Sports Therapists Charlotte Pinner who along with our own Shannon Crawford managed the situation demonstrating in-depth knowledge and no little understanding of the circumstances they faced.
When it was revealed that an ambulance was some four hours away and with the match abandoned, they both worked tirelessly to make him as comfortable as possible bearing in mind the severity of the situation.
Sam sustained clean breaks to both bones in his lower right leg and was finally taken to hospital at 20.30. He underwent an operation on Sunday afternoon at Adambrooks Hospital Cambridge where the staff were extremely supportive and attentive. Our thanks also go to the hosts Secretary Andy Dewey who was particularly helpful and looked after our team and management until the Ambulance departed the ground.

The photo is of Sam immediately after coming round from his operation at Adambrooks Hospital.

Obviously it goes without saying that everyone connected with Kidlington FC was shocked to hear the news and wish our skipper a speedy and successful recovery.
