Teeny Boppers Take Over KXP A Team

Pin point passing from hooker Adam Taylor brought on relentless props Owain Griffiths and Ryan Barrett with half backs Jamie Morton and Ben Robertshaw linking well. Winger Henry Wilson had a stormer typified by a 70 yard burst carried on well by opposite wing Kyle Brown and full back Halden Thoseby. The enthusiasm to score led to handovers and massive defensive efforts from in form loose forward Taylor Craven Carter and man of the match Luke Brown restricted Meltham to 1 first half score. The introduction of teeny boppers Kieran Baxter, Niall Corley, Billy Broome and Jack Yarker shifted momentum Park's way and skilful handling from Morton found centre Dan Watkinson who jinked past a dozen players to level matters on the half time hooter.

King Cross continued to dominate after the break as Wilson went on another 70 yarder with Craven Carter, Robertshaw and Brown also standing out. Overplaying again led to errors and a couple of breakaway tries gave the visitors a flattering lead. Whilst this and other results have not all gone their way, this team of youngsters is made up mainly of players in their first full open age season who have stuck together regardless of opposition, venue or conditions. Individual and team improvement has been continuous and a bright future can be expected.
