King Cross Park seemed to want to practice their tackling as they repeatedly gave possession and penalties to their Leeds based opponents. After falling behind and defending for most of the first half it was a relief to gain some possession as props Kieran Baxter and Jack Stevenson showed the way with powerful runs being held up inches short. Greedy hooker Lee Gleeson tried a short range scoot and clueless second rower Izaac Beaumont did not know how to pass from acting half so fooled everyone including himself by plonking the ball over the line, converted by scrum half Jonny Binns. Wortley responded straight away then the first flowing move of the game found full back Ben Robertshaw who made the most of a little space to ghost in out wide for a 12 - 10 half time score.

Park were now in control with strong carries from Taylor Craven-Carter, Jordan Gray, Will Sutcliffe and Matty Ward setting the platform. Smart handling created space for man of the match loose forward Ellis Nuttall and Binns to go close only for the final passes to go to ground. More crisp passing reached Binns who made no mistake this time to take the lead with a try converted by Gray. Instead of building on the position King Cross imploded to allow the Dragons to snatch the result.
