Top of the league Illingworth had too much for the King Cross Park youngsters who again put up a spirited display and were the better side for long periods of the game. Four foot small winger Niall Corley repeatedly demonstrated copy book defence against everything that came his way to earn man of the match on his open age and club debut. Sniffer hooker Jamie Morton twice went within inches of the line and on both occasions shrewd prop Adam Beare was there to finish off the tries. Despite the scoreline and no recognised half backs Park were not afraid to attack with versatile Ben Robertshaw throwing the ball around with gay abandon and ever present all action prop Ryan Barrett working for the full 80. On loan kick and clap coder and ex junior captain Pete Garside completed the best score of the game out wide which meant that Matt Brown only converted the 2 from under the posts.
