On Sunday 13th August 2023, just after 10pm, two patrons of The Two Brewers on Clapham High Street were victims of a homophobic attack.

The Board of the club issued a statement in the support of our sponsor on Monday. The statement reads (in part):

"This is an appalling act against our community and our thoughts are with the two victims, their friends, family and the wider community.

Our Official Sponsor, The Two Brewers, has been a safe space for the Steelers for over 20 years, including club events such as Ruggercub and Steelers Drag Race.

In the coming weeks, we will be here for all you at the Two Brewers, just like you have been here for us.

We know this will be a shock to many at the club and in our community. Please make sure to check in with each other and if you'd like to reach out to any of the Board don't hesitate to get in touch."
