WHILST THERE MAY BE NO PARADE OR PROTEST THIS YEAR OUR RUGBY FESTIVAL WILL SHOW OFF THE BEST OF OUR LGBTQ+ RUGBY COMMUNITY IN THE CAPITAL.

London Pride may have been cancelled but we will still do London proud with a festival to showcase the best of LGBTQ+ rugby in the capital.

Doors open at 6:30
Kick off at 7:30pm
Friday 10th September

Everyone is welcome to join us at Steelers Stadium in West Ham for what will be a great evening.

There will be two 15-a-side matches against London Scottish Lions, who we have played against in two friendlies before in 2018 before the Bingham cup and 2019. The London Stags, the capital’s other gay and inclusive club, will also run out at our ground for the first time and we look forward to welcoming them.

There will be a touch rugby tournament, with the East London Vixens, our partner women’s team, Pride In Touch and The Clapham Feelers joining the 4th XV and Stags on the pitch too.

Among the supporters there on the night will be the RFU’s Chair Tom Ilube, CEO Bill Sweeney and President Jeff Blackett. Steelers are also hoping that professional referee Craig Maxwell-Keys will officiate at the festival.

“The event will be a celebration of LGBTQ+ rugby in London and, in the absence of London Pride, a recognition of the inclusivity of rugby," said Steelers Chair, Matt Webb. "Together with the support for the Steelers documentary, having Tom, Bill and Jeff as guests is another example of how seriously the senior team at the RFU take inclusion.”

We would love to see supporters coming along to celebrate with us. There will be a suggested donation on the gate for entry which a proportion of will go to our charities Terence Higgins Trust and Diversity Role Models.

See you there
