The Kings Cross Steelers 4XV welcomed the Brighton & Hove Sea Serpents 2XV to Steelers Stadium for a fun and friendly 80 minutes of rugby. For many of the Sea Serpents 2s, this was their first match against another club, and they approached it with great energy, a positive attitude, and strong commitment throughout. The Sea Serpents can be proud of how they performed.

It was a big day for the Steelers, with 21 players making their match debut after completing the 2025 Pathway to Rugby programme. The team brought energy and composure from the opening whistle, stepped up the physical side of the game, and stayed calm under pressure on a muddy pitch. The pack applied consistent pressure across the game, winning collisions and creating space, while the backline capitalised through strong support lines and well-executed offloading to secure a 35–0 win.

Peter Walsh was named Forward of the Match for a dominant performance at openside flanker, relentless at the breakdown, highly physical in contact, and consistently winning space for the team. Andrew Proctor took Back of the Match honours at fullback, carrying strongly all game, accelerating into space, and scoring one of the Steelers’ tries as the backline converted pressure into points.
