Sunday 16th October saw the Kings Norton Rhinos U15's play away to a very experienced Droitwich team. KN playing strictly on only 15 lads due to injury and illness put them immediately on the back foot, but this did not discourage them one bit. Joe Walters-Looker took on the role of Captain and really encouraged his team forward. As expected against such an experienced team, Droitwich began to put the ball over the line. During the first half KN lost two players to injury, meaning two players from Droitwich came over to us On loan. Towards the end of the first half with great efforts from Jack Allen as pack leader organising the forwards in defence and Joe Walters-Looker kicking some great balls into touch ment we were playing to our strengths. We witnessed some very strong lineouts especially from Ellis Spore who was lifted for the first time and did a remarkable job. This leading into some great runs making ground by Our backs, especially Josh Liggett and Abel Abubaker running up to the half time whistle. As we Entered the second half the team were still hungry to get a score on the bored. Much of the same play was seen by KN with some incredible defence, which prevented Droitwich from getting far more try's than they would of liked. Abel Abubaker and Sean O'conner in particular making some amazing try stopping tackles. Finally in the second half we saw two trys come to KN from Joe Walters-Looker and Josh Harrington but sadly were not converted. Time was called early on this match but certainly not due to the lack of effort from the KN 15. This was always going to be a very tough match but what it did show was the teams courage and will to play for each other and their club. Every person on that pitch contributed to what was a very courageous effort.
