Rhinos divided into 3 teams of five to each take on Old Halesonians.
First up was the Rhinos Green tags; in a very closely fought contest the 'greens' showed excellent defensive discipline, working together as a group - marshalled by Kieran and Ruben. All pitched in with tries with Thomas, Sam and Edward making particularly good scoring runs. Rhinos ran out 7-5 winners.
Red tags' were up next playing the same opposition team having had a 'warm up' playing the Yellow tags. This game saw some excellent combination play, unprompted passing and overlapping from Dylan and Joel, ably supported by Iwan, Noah, and Lewis. Old Hales put up a stern opposition but couldn't deny Rhinos Reds' a 9-5 victory.
Up last, but not least were the Yellow tags; once again the enthusiasm and effort was excellent from both teams. Meg and Nat once again showed what stars they are in the midfield while Kien, Charlie and Harry provide the pace in attack. Mansell was instrumental in everything that was good about the Rhinos play; time and again he made good ground with the ball in hands. In a closely contested game which saw some excellent tries scored, Rhinos just pipped Old Hales 8-7.
Well done to all Rhinos, everyone played with a good attitude and spirit and congratulations to Dylan for an outstanding performance which earned him coaches choice for player of the day.
Finally, a 'get well soon' to coach Rich who was taken sick, following a day (and evening) in hospitality at Worcester Warriors, we're told it may have been something he 'drank'! ;)
